SHARK
just when you thought it was safe to go back on jury duty
Hey sometimes I write about serious stuff and sometimes ... well, it's whatever's happening. Right? I mean, this is blogging, after all. This is popular culture. This is America.

This evening I was watching Shark episodes. I've been downloading them from iTunes. A week ago, I'd never heard of this show. I don't get cable. Or even TV. Now I've watched the entire first season and 4/5ths of the second. It isn't fair. You get addicted to these things, eat the whole box, and then find out they only make one new one a week. Imagine if Godiva operated that way. But nevermind.

Tonight I was re-screening the last episode of season one. It's called Wayne's World 2: Revenge of the Shark. And I'm glad I watched it a second time, because I didn't pick up on this bit the first time around. So in this scene, Shark -- our slimy yet oddly lovable yuppie-fuck lawyer and all-around getting-with-the-program-father/hero, played by James Woods -- is on the stand himself, testifying about his previous attempt to nail Wayne, the evil serial killer bad guy.

That's Shark as he's saying: "He took her down into his basement, tied her down, and then he repeated the horrific details of her childhood molestation as he cut her -- again and again."

The jury seems appropriately downcast on hearing this -- all except for the blond chick in the back row!

I had a girlfriend like that once.

Until a minute ago, I had no photos. I still have no photos to speak of. I don't even have a camera. But all these people were linking to "my photos." It was embarassing. It's still embarassing. But I'm used to that.
