occupational hazards
are you a psychopathic boat captain?
I haven't been blogging much here, as you may have noticed. Instead, I've been writing much the same sort of stuff over at Chief Blogging Officer, for much the same sort of stuff you see pictured at the right. So go over there and see our latest about sex, religion, death, contraband intellect, serial commas, and other shocking developments in today's modern world.

Meanwhile, Robin and I were wondering what to do at 2am this morning, so we cruised over to Amazon and started looking at random "So You'd Like To..." lists. And ma-a-a-a-an, did we ever find a doozey for y'all. To wit...

So you'd like to... find out what mental problems your job could create

Go here to find out what kind of jobs you should definitely stay away from if you suffer from any or all of the following (and we quote):

  • Depression and/or Mania
  • Dissociative or Multiple-personality
  • Masochistic or Borderline
  • Histrionic / Hysterical
  • Paranoid
  • Obsessive / Compulsive
  • Psychopathic / anti-social / sadistic
  • Narcissistic
  • Schizoid / Schizotypal
  • Schizophrenia
For instance, if you are a pathological narcissist, better turn down that park ranger job. If you're paranoid, don't ever type. Or retire. The author, one whereat2@yahoo.com, notes that "we all focus on something just a little too much." And offers living proof. He (?) says the lists he presents came to him "by osmosis." If you to are looking for something to do at -- what time is it now where you are? -- then you could do a lot worse than to check out this highly original occupational horoscope. Must be seen to be believed. But not if you're a carpet installer.

Until a minute ago, I had no photos. I still have no photos to speak of. I don't even have a camera. But all these people were linking to "my photos." It was embarassing. It's still embarassing. But I'm used to that.
